The Hafler Trio: any moment now.
recently stumbled upon, and for some time not recognised, this is an assemblage of material that was used for the appearance as "support" for Einstürzende Neubauten on their "Perpetuum Mobile" tour in 2004. the intention was to do a great deal more of it than just Leipzig on the 1st of March of that year, but some other people had other plans, and a drama ensued that had Your Humble Narrator and trusted accomplice flee several countries and deal with massive fallout from a certain person (not one of Neubauten) who was soon to effect retribution for an entirely imagined wrong. ah well. the recordings use many techniques which cropped up elsewhere, but in this case were intended to work with the situation as it related to the function of the appearances. the EN PA system(s) were legendary, and one of the reasons for the recordings being the way they were and are was to make use of this, and much more besides. speakers will be needed, and the use of headphones will result in an utterly crap experience, so don't. just don't.

"more than 20 years of activity in a multiplicity of realms both 'real' and 'imaginary' have both clarified and obscured many of the surfaces that have been externally applied to the work emanating from under that names' umbrella. what can be said with a small degree of certainty is that the aim progresses in its capacity to apprehend to a state where it need not actually manifest through the expedient facility of a signifier.
without a doubt, what can be ascertained from looking at what it is that The Hafler Trio have supposedly 'done', is that what is completed by that act is something that was intentional; even if these factors do not serve as a platform for automatic consumption of the selfs' immediate impressions as food for secondary entities which survive essentially by proxy. the reciprocal is very active."
